It completely changed my point of view on rideshare drivers. Coincidentally, I took Uber on the way home and the driver was a middle-aged lady from Sri Lanka. I never had a conversation with the Uber driver for more than 1 minute before but this time, I chatted with her like an old friend until she dropped me off at my house. There are many entertaining shows but it’s rare to find a show that actually contributes to the betterment of your point of view and life. Kudos to “We are Traffic”
What I didn't like
There was one very minor issue with the projector behind him occasionally de-syncing, which was a bit distracting.
My overall impression
What an amazing solo performance! Jonathan Tipton Meyers is a gifted storyteller who at first brings you to a seemingly normal conversation to spellbinding intimacy once he explores his personal story. The first half was very light and funny as he leads you to his starting days as a Lyft driver and his experience with familiar LA culture. The next half gets more intense and you are progressively drawn into his despair. My engagement with the final act was so deep that I couldn’t snap out of it for the rest of the run.
