I like the conceit of having a vicarious expetience by using the experience of being a driver which creates these forced moments of temporal intense connection that are short random and usually unrepeated that provide nuggets of understanding of the good and bad aspects of human interaction and how that experience paralleled personal introspection and cathartic experience of the driver himself.
I like how as The experience of the driver was over the course of a significant period of time, we see him run through the gamut of emotions as one would a relationship, the infatuation, the desire to be on One’s best behavior and the most giving that they can be comma the feeling of enjoyment, and then sometimes the resentment and taking for granted of both parties that is the same in a relationship.
I liked the production aspects that made you feel like you were in the car having the experience.
What I didn't like
Although there may be no way around it, I felt that certain aspects of the toilet scene where will acted enough that it seemed a little overly graphic and I was slightly uncomfortable and unable to pay attention to the dialogue because I was unfortunately Imagining the driver going to the bathroom period but again it may not be possible to do anything about that
My overall impression
I felt that the play was excellent And Timely. IT addresses how more and more the line between an economic transaction and a social transaction is becoming blurred and the consequences and effects of such experiences that make us question ourselves and what we want. I also thought that it was kind of an interesting love letter to the city of Los Angeles and a certain way as well.
