What I liked
Jenny is a powerhouse performer with endless energy and charisma. She lights up the stage with even the smallest flash of her eyes, and owns the entire room with the slightest snarl of her lip as she transforms before our eyes into the woman who is equally larger than life, her mother! Jenny’s ability to fully immerse herself into her mother’s character is so delicious I could have sat and watched “her mother” talk all night long! What a wonderful tribute to a one-in-a-million lady. Performed by another one-in-a-million woman and actress. Brava!
What I didn't like
I so fully loved her mother that I could easily have spent more time witnessing her reactions with the other people in her life. I would love to have seen an extended version of the hilarious Thanksgiving scene. But, this is not a complaint, simply my hunger to spend more time with Jenny’s hilarious depiction of her beloved mother.
My overall impression
A dynamic and powerful love letter from a devoted daughter to her cantankerous and deeply charming mother. A fantastic evening of love, belly laughs and heart as Jenny weaves the incredible story of her truly original mother, and steals all of our hearts in the process! What a ride! And how happy I am that I took it!
