Watching and learning about an artist that I respect that helps me learn about myself.
What I didn't like
My partner and I talked about the show on the way home- I’m sure we could use some improvement.
My overall impression
Dufflyn beautifully articulates the human conflict that arises when culture interferes with the interpersonal relationship between child and parent. As a brilliant poet and actress, she effortlessly dances in and out of characters spanning from self, mother, and others to reveal a very engaging and personal journey of her coming of age. This show challenges audience members to not only become a part of her naritive- but asks us, who are we without those that do their best to love us while struggling to love themselves.
