About the Project
Follow Lucas’s story of self-discovery and how it affects his daily life. From coming out to his parents and friends as being transgender, to extensive psychiatrist visits, Lucas’s courage to no longer be known as “Lilah” turns his world upside-down. Based off of the structure of Shakespearean tragedies: written in poetry using modern language about societal issues and a fatal end. Brings up questions of tolerance, what it means to be transgender, and the origin of hate. See how fear of the unknown can divide a family, turn friends against one another, and obstruct one’s search for self-love and identity.
