What I liked
We are included in this clever, witty musical from the moment Terry enters the stage. She exposes her vulnerabilities in a loving and humorous way expressed through dance, character changes, and beautifully sung lyrics.
Fantastic direction – not a movement or a breath wasted.
There are no more victims when she works through her tortorous process; no one left to be angry with. Terry gives the bullied a direction and purpose when she lets go with her new spiritual anthem. And we, the audience, now identified and charmed by this hard working, force of nature, must join her. Arms outstretched with fingers extended, we wave in unison to her dance and join in our new fight song. “Fuck it! Fuck it. fuck it. Fuck It.”
This show is more than a cleverly crafted, skillfully directed, fun night at the theater. It is a call to stand fast and hold on when Fortuna’s Wheel apoears to turn against you. It is a map to freedom from fear, negativity and jealousy and whatever else has shackled your spirit. Uplifting, provocative and wise.
