Adapting the cult-classic film Troll 2 for the stage is not easy. The structure is a mess, the plot has major holes and non-sequators, the character goals and intentions make no sense and the film is just plain terrible. I mean, that's why it's considered the worst movie ever made, right? 2 Cents Theatre Company has mounted their own musical version of the b-movie, entitled Nilbog: The Unauthorized Musical Parody Of Troll 2, for the Hollywood Fringe Festival. It was a fun night out, we had dinner across the street then saw a a show that had me singing and laughing even after it was over and I would enjoy seeing it again. The songs are stuck in my head, but they are fun songs to have stuck in your head. The composer, pianist, director, really I am grateful there are talented people in Los Angeles coming together and working hard to keep theatre alive in LA. ...
