Live From the Grave: It's John Belushi

John Belushi was chaos incarnate. So it sort of feels appropriate that a play about his early career should also feel like chaos incarnate. The question however, is whether that chaos is happening purely ONSTAGE or also behind-the-scenes. And while I really, REALLY liked Jack Zullo AS john Belushi himself, I wasn't entirely sure about where the chaos was coming from in the rest of the current version of this production. It's a giant cast of actors who are playing comedians I know--but I can't recognize them from the actors' performances or costumes or mannerisms. This story was one that needed to be told and told correctly, it is a passion project in every sense of the word and it feels like a "biopic" done right. Informative, funny, sometimes a tad dark but always entertaining this is a comedic show that centers on the art of comedy as well as it's potential consequences. I really enjoyed this program.... full review
