The setting and all of the period elements were absolutely on point. The comedic value was very high, but didn’t take away from the nuances of the story. It felt both very familiar, yet fresh and different. Good cast, good acting, fun scenes & dream sequences, loved the whole play on reefer overdosing, etc.
What I didn't like
There really isn’t anything. Pressed to choose something, I guess it would be funnier if only the main character broke the 4th wall and the heroine didn’t join him in it during the car chase scene.
My overall impression
It’s a great time with tons of subtle jokes, great casting/acting, just dark enough to be gritty without taking the genre too seriously. Great choice on venue too, you can enjoy the play and order some drinks using your tea light, what a cool touch!
