Was able to score some tickets last Wednesday to “House of Rabbits’ Charivari in Voyeurville” at this year’s Fringe Fest (no small feat because it was sold out every night) and didn’t know what to expect as sometimes the Hollywood buzz machine is based on what actor is appearing as opposed to the merits of the production (“oh my GOD! Isn’t that SO AND SO?”) Well I need not have worried. “Voyeurville” was a white knuckle ride full of amazing choreography, well written and humorous subject matter, and incredible music with a kick ass band featuring a take no prisoners lead singer who seamlessly alternated between the roles of narrator and court jester. In fact at times I wasn’t exactly sure or didn’t exactly understand WHAT I was seeing- but I do know I LIKED IT! If I had one complaint, it would be that before I could catch my breath, the show was over. I would have preferred a longer performance. But hey – that’s one of the long tested tenets of theater: always keep them wanting more.
