My overall impression
I am a huge fan of Shakespeare, but I’ve always had issue with Taming of the Shrew because of its misogynistic tone. Never in a million years would I think that by bringing the idea of BDSM into the mix the show would not only make more sense, but I would see Petruchio in an entirely different and actually quite charming light! The incredibly talented ladies of Broads’ Word Theatre are not to be missed at this year’s Fringe! Their command and understanding of Shakespeare’s language paired with director Danielle Ozymandias’s fantastic staging makes Fifty Shades Of Shrew a must-see show!!!
