After seeing this latest show by the Four Clowns, I kept thinking about comedy. About what makes something funny. The Halfwits' Last Hurrah should not have been as funny as it is. Yet I and the audience laughed too many times to count--often at things that should have felt tragic. Why, I wondered? Part of it of course consisted of skill on the part of the entire cast--which proved transcendent! Comedy, as we know (don't we?) depends so very much on timing. The entire company--Tyler Bremer, Jennifer Carroll, Charlotte Chanler, Don Colliver, Julia Davis, Jamie Franta, Elizabeth Godley, Dave Honigman, Benji Kaufman, Jolene Kim, Jamarr Love and Helene Udy--all me the standards I've come to expect from this group. Not simply a matter of tim... full review

The Four Clowns does it again! A group of us saw, “The Halfwits' Last Hurrah!” Saturday night and thought it was hilarious!!! Our entire group loved it! We highly recommend you see this show if you love laughing and want to see a show that you will truly enjoy! The characters were fun, funny, loveable, enthusiastic, and engaging! Without you even knowing, they draw you right into the story before the show even begins! The show is a cleverly written vaudeville spectacular filled with music, dancing, singing, acrobatics, excitement, burlesque, laughter, heartfelt moments, good guys, bad guys, and so much more! Everyone did a remarkable job on this show! We loved it so much that we are going to see this again on June 18th at 7:00pm! Come join u... full review

As to be expected by Four Clowns, this was a highly entertaining, hilarious and enjoyable experience. I particularly loved the vaudeville aspect, which highlighted some truly astonishing talent and provided ample opportunities for silliness. Go see it if you can still get tickets!... full review

Another great production from Four Clowns. An exceedingly brilliant example of some of the best dumb comedy I've ever seen (and I mean "dumb" in the best way possible). Not very narrative heavy, and that's okay, 'cause the main experience of this production is an id-centric comedic ride on the back of some intensely focused audience connection and physical/prop comedy. Though a little dark, with some sexual references to boot, I still think it's in the realm of fun-for-all-ages. More please.... full review

Four Clowns, "The Half Wits Last Hurrah is a big happy surprise. If you want to laugh your ass off GO SEE THIS SHOW. Warning: Don't be surprised if you also cry. While you are laughing. But your tears will come from a real place, because this is solid entertainment. Should have known because this talented group of entertainers never disappoints. ... full review

Part comedy revue, part performance piece, The Halfwits’ Last Hurrah is jaw-droppingly surreal, yet its seemingly disparate elements manage to converge into a comprehensible, if bizarre, whole.... full review

This show is hilarious! From the curtain speech through the final farewell, it's a ton of fun, with some really smart comedy mixed in with wonderfully lowbrow sex jokes and physical gags. The "acrobatic twins" may be the most brilliant (and stupid) part of the show... and there's also some real heart as well, with a narrative through line that really sustains the audience's interest. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to have a good time. ... full review

In the sea of reviews for this show, I am not likely to break new ground. But to sum - it's a great time with a little bit of everything across the live performing tradition. If you have seen an act on stage or in an old movie there's a chance you will see it here. Odds are it will be funnier here, more engaged with the audience here, and more chocolaty here. Kudos to the creators and the very strong ensemble for bringing this fantastic show to the stage. ... full review

I could write about how funny this show is, or how amazingly committed the actors are, but you all know that. I could write about the great chemistry and the immaculate directing of this show, which could have been way to tongue in cheek to enjoy but instead feels great the whole time. I could tell you how impressed I was by the choreography and the physical comedy bits that are happening throughout the play, from when you walk into the theater the the end. Instead I'll just say this: There is a moment in this play that isn't just amazing, but it made me feel more emotionally connected to a piece of art then I have in a long time. This show rules beyond words.... full review
