A true hidden gem of this year's Fringe. I'm so pleased I took the time to walk the extra block to Hudson Backstage to get a chance to see Shyam at work. Hilarious and heartbreaking by turns, this show is messy and beautiful and a knockout showcase for the brilliant comedic (and dramatic) talents of Shyam Bhatt. Do yourself a favor and see this show during Fringe!...

Such a great show! Really, really funny!! It's an enjoyable journey through timely social issues and timeless identity issues. The different stories are expertly delivered and the transitions between characters are clean. Loved the use of speed dating as a window into Treya and her world....

Fantastic show – a real emotional roller-coaster. The show is extremely funny but also extremely sad. Somehow, the switching between these two emotive states works really well (to my astonishment), and is probably attributable to excellent writing and directing (in addition to very talented acting, of course). The wide range of different characters portrayed by the same person (and portrayed really well WITHOUT the use of props) made me think of a young Jim Carrey – Shyam seems to have his knack of creating a full cast all by oneself. This is a show played by an extremely talented actress that everyone should watch....

#SeeItLA - Set at a speed dating event, there are ample opportunites for pithy remarks and awkward moments and Shyam Bhatt capitalizes on all of them. Treya's Last Dance is at once endearing, heart-breaking, hilarious and restoritive. Bhatt commands the stage from the very beginning and has the audience eating out of the palm of her hand by the end. ...

I love a story that makes me laugh and cry and Treya's Last Dance does both. It's exceptionally well acted and takes the audience on a journey of love, loss, family and faith. I really felt the audience got to participate in the experience - there are so many different layers to the story, that we can all identify with some of what Treya is going through. It's a wonderfully entertaining and witty hour long show. Go see it!...
