"SKANKY ME FROM KANKAKEE" - A World Premiere Rock Musical

"SKANKY ME FROM KANKAKEE"" is a great show. Mark has done a geat job of telling his story of growing up and discovering that he is gay, coming out and accepting who he is and getting acceptance from his family. It is a great show that many will identify with. The music is fun, the supporting cast is tremendous and the staging on the small stage was done fantastically. A fun evening. "Skanky Me from Kankakee" was both poignantly moving and hysterically laugh inducing at the same time! The viewer was completely transported from the audience to Kankakee where one could feel the truly tumultuous, frustrating and pain inducing experiences Marc had growing up there. Luckily the viewer had the opportunity to revel in his humor and happy moments as well which kept the pace nicely flowing. The viewer finds themselves cheering for Marc through the hard times and applauding him through the good times. If you want to experience the epitome of the journey of a person's life condensed into a couple hours while grasping the vulnerability of the entire journey, you must see this play! Marc is amazing and so is his supporting cast. ... full review
