Wha is the history Marc?
SKANKY ME is a beautiful musical tha touches all your being and takes you from a huge smile to tears and again to a smile. The lyrics from the songs are beautiful although its a difficult topic, you come out of the theater with new goals and loving yourself and accepting yourself with your past. Thank you Marc for being brave and leaving this story for the next generation to come. You are such a wonderful person....

Finding the right medium to tell your story is tricky. And using your own personal journey as the biopic-topic can be dangerous. Adding original songs (as catchy as the Meow Mix jingle), dance numbers and baton twirling to this effort is a Herculean task that could break weaker men but Marc Francoeur scores a massive triumph with all the above in "Skanky Me from Kankakee". The show retraces the path of Marc's budding sexuality and coming-of-age in the Illinois suburbs to the tune of his high-energy, hilarious, touching songs and dance routines. From awakening to young love, self-acceptance to acceptance from others, Marc's obvious dedication to making this story great, the great band and cast make getting a chance to relive some of these...

I love, love, loved this show! Everything about it, from the set to the songs to the characters, was just amazing.
It's hard to give you a thorough review without spoiling the show. I really don't want to give too much away, but the storyline is one that has not been explored often. The amazing storyline plus the great rock-style soundtrack makes this a must-see for everyone.
I think everyone in West Hollywood (where I lived right now) can relate to this farm-boy-raised story and this show delves into that but without overdoing it.
The singing, dancing and acting were phenomenal. There were several times throughout the show that I was captivated by the dancing and beautiful voices.
The soundtrack is so catchy. The songs are cute and ca...

From the catchy title alone, one can deduce that this show is flare and fun infused. Marc Francoeur manages to take the audience on an engaging, emotional, and very real journey through his development from childhood through adolescence. A very difficult journey toward the self realization that he is gay is presented with a wit and momentum that is engaging from beginning to end. The original music is seamlessly incorporated into the story telling, and Francoeur's ability to maintain the level of energy necessary for delivering the fast-paced songs and rapid dialogue with heart and sincerity for a straight 90 minutes is quite a feat in and of itself! A big thumbs up to the ensemble of women in the show who all do a fantastic job of swit...

Skanky Me From Kankakee is an amazing show about an amazing courageous man and the challenges he faced growing up gay in the Midwest. Marc Francoeur and the cast of Skanky Me left the audience feeling as if they were by his side as he faced each challenge. The music was amazing too, as well as the voices of the cast, especially Marc and Terri's.
Marc's story of his life journey will have you laughing, crying, wanting to hug him, and leave you feeling good. This show is as unique as Marc and is a must see. The entire cast did an awesome job of portraying each character and the events of Marc's journey. This show is definitely a hit that needs to come to Chicago. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

Skanky Me From Kankakee was absolutely breath taking. The cast drew you in as if you were part of their life, you could feel their happiness, their sadness, joy and laughter. Marc was spectacular, you could see his emotions as he performed and could tell it was coming from the heart. The whole cast was amazing as well as the band. I definitely could see this show going to other big cities, Chicago, New York, it would touch so many lives!!...

We traveled to LA especially to see this show, and let me tell you we were not disappointed! Beautifully done, this show is a mix of comedy, love, surprises and also at times a little sadness. The actresses were spot on portraying Marc Francoeur's family members, and so funny!!! The songs written and sung by Francoeur and the cast were oh so fabulous!!!! All in all the show was a perfect rendition of a small town boy growing up in the midwest discovering who he was and who he wanted to be! Love Love Loved this show!!...

"Skanky Me from Kankakee" is one of my favorite shows for SURE!!
I've seen many musical productions in the past and seen amazing performances.... But what Marc did on the stage for me was more than just an entertainment... He made his personal experience/dark subject into laughable and relatable. What a talent he has!! His voice of honesty and the courage to send the message of love touched my heart and inspired me. I would love to see this production grow!!
