The 7th Annual One-Man Show World Championships

I’m planning on creating my first one “man” show, so naturally I HAD to see 7th Annual One-Man Show World Championships. So I could see what the "rules” are. And boy did I ever!! A hilarious send up of a great genre. It’s a solid, hilarious show yet still respectful of the very thing it was spoofing. The entire cast was amazing, and I will live happily ever after with the vision of Jim Hanna turning in circles on stage. Thank you, one and all!... full review

If you've ever seen more than one one-man show, you know there are certain conventions that come with the territory. In this brilliant performance, every one of those conventions gets roundly skewered in the most amazing and hilarious ways. Out of the dozen or more shows I've seen in this year's Fringe, "The 7th Annual One-Man Show World Championships" is a stand-out night in the theater that will make your sides ache, your cheeks hurt and your body want to jump out of your seat to applaud. This show has the funniest opening segment of anything I've seen at the Fringe. The laughs continue throughout, with all the actors 100% committing to their ridiculous characters. It was a fun show, even though, as someone who did a one-man show this year, it made me squirm at my own narcissism.... full review

Jim Hanna has created an outrageously hilarious send up of one man shows. The premice of the "battle of the bands meets middle school forensics" style show where one solo artist emerges victorious is enough to make me laugh. Thankfully, Hanna doesn't stop at premise. Intead he has written four complete one man shows for four solo artist archetypes. Each performer is spot on when delievering their "piece of art". The one theme that ties all of the acts together is brilliance. Brilliantly written, acted and directed this show leaves you wanting more. I cannot wait to see the 8th annual awrds!! This show was entertaining from start to finish! The writing is pure genius and the talent to match it made this cast a dream team. If you had the opportunity to see this show we got lucky. I will Definitely check them out next year and the years after! ... full review
