As a Lost Moon virgin, didn't really know what to expect. The company has HUGE buzz among Fringers so I figured the show was a good bet. And the buzz was right: had a great time and felt this show was A-game level for Fringe. Loved the parody musical numbers and comedy-grotesque characters. The found photo slideshow was hilarious. And the smoking band was beyond beyond. But my biggest "wow" of the show was Leslie Korein as January Waterbed Schonfeld. As far as I'm concerned, she was absolute perfection. Oh man, so great. The show is a memorial concert for a big time record producer, and it follows his career from the 70's-90's. Their ability to parody musical styles is on par with Weird Al. The songs are funny and memorable, as are all the characters they create throughout the show....

I have been hearing about Lost Moon Radio ever since I moved to LA and finally got to see what all the buzz is about. WOW. The show is awesome. Afterward, I found myself thinking about Barry Shoenfeld, as if I really knew him! I laughed the entire time. The songs are so cleverly written and totally capture the evolution of music and the rock stars of yesteryear as well as today. There are so many times when the cast could cross that line of overdoing it or being campy, especially with the nature of the script, and yet THEY NEVER DO. They simply stay grounded in truth and play it 100% straight, which is what makes it even funnier.
