Do you realize that this play has been around for some time already? Yet it’s subject matter is just as relevant today as it was years ago. This is sad…but it continues to be our country’s reality. Just in the last three weeks, we’ve seen Isla Vista, Portland, Seattle. I don’t have an answer. And after watching this thought provoking show, I still don’t. I think that the best thing that could happen from this show is to film it and send it to every school district in our country. If kids can see some part of themselves in this show, then maybe they might think about what it is that they are thinking about, bullied or bully, popular or disengaged, geek or jock. “Friends Like These” is a must see. Even if you think your life is not touched by these issues, you might start to open your eyes to the fact that it is. I brought five people with me from NorCal to see this show. I could think of fifty who need to see it. Kudos to great writing, thoughtful production, and a very very talented cast.
