My overall impression
Rarely do I get to see a show where I leave the theater gasping with laughter while thinking, “damn that is one talented performer!” But such is the case with Frank Blocker and his one man show of “Stabilized not Controlled.”
The play itself is brilliant, using the battle of tenants versus landlord as a metaphor for addiction and twelve stepping. But Blocker then goes one step further, by playing ALL the characters in his tale, effectively bringing to vibrant detailed life enough New York personalities to fill a five story building.
This is an incredible tour de force by any performer/writer and Frank Blocker delivers on every level. Highly recommended. See it now before Blocker gets scooped up by Hollywood!
