My overall impression
I thought the 3ofaKind Theatre company did a fantastic job with “Awkward Pauses.” The writing, directing, and acting was outstanding; Jerry Chappell and Mindy Warick were magnificent. With such a serious topic, there was possibility it could be a very depressing tone overall. But wasn’t the case at all here. The whole piece did a wonderful job of balancing the difficult of such a gripping and odd subject of suicide; keeping the story alive and fresh, playing both the comedy and devastation. I also loved the innovative set design of “Ten Minutes to Go.” I absolutely loved “Ducks in Winter” with Susan Marlowe and Tony Christopher. What a pair!! They were crisp, fun, and full of light. Those two work beautifully together, they brought out such real honest moments together. I also thought Sara Davenport and Randy Marquis did a stand up job with “Middle America.” Again the subject matter is not an easy one, and these actors did a great job, bringing out the reality of such people. Overall, job well done 3ofaKind!! Looking forward to more!
