My overall impression
I highly recommend seeing this play!!! Double Bind is brilliantly written, directed and acted! It has the best of everything – romance, friendship, humor, and drama. Be prepared to laugh out loud and shed a few tears. You’ll most likely experience a shared humanity with at least one if not all of the characters on stage. Blake’s writing is soulful and full of depth. It reveals the rich complexity of each character in a mesmerizing arc throughout the play. If you’re tired of end of the world movies that offer nothing but explosions and mind numbing special effects, I encourage you to see this play! Unlike most movie going experiences these days, this play left me with so much to think about and reflect on. What fascinated me most about the play was that it’s about a person who has two sides that are at odds. This is SO human! The acting was out of this world AMAZING!! Blake Shields was especially magnificent!!!
