My overall impression
Went to the late-night show on the 28th, and had an absolute blast. There’s not much for narrative, but this tightly directed, beautifully presented lunatic seminar was exactly what I needed after a rough week.
Zach Steel’s energy is like rocket fuel, and Adam Carpenter is the weirdness MVP that opens the door into pathos and sweetness at exactly the correct moments – there’s no way to know how much was scripted and how much improvised, but it felt entirely spontaneous without losing a sense of cohesion – it all felt of a piece.
Great talent, great lighting, great audience involement – I hope the show continues on developing – if they do, i can’t wait to see what they come up with.
