My overall impression
Way too formulaic, canned music, hollow characters; not my favorite. A mom in the Nick-at-Nite world of “Studio City” tries to get onto “The Real Housewives of Studio City”, but needs a housekeeper to play opposite. The musical review of classic tv maids/housekeepers begins with Nell Carter; she’s sassy, she sings, she leaves. NEXT! Enter Lurch and Rosie the Robot; they’re silly, they sing, they leave. NEXT! See where I’m going with this? There is NO story, no lessons, no growth; the entire experience left me wincing from its ham-handedness. This unfortunately will be a huge hit with people who love Las Vegas review shows, which I’m sure with a limited Fringe run, they’ll probably find plenty of.
PS. Prepare yourself for the hideous attempt at 12 person harmony in the last measure of the show.
