This was my first time experiencing the works of Dorothy Parker in any medium, and I sincerely enjoyed the experience. I thought the first three scenes, "The Lovely Leave" in particular, were solid, engaging stories, and I found myself engrossed the whole time. Unfortunately, I couldn't get into "The Game." I thought the pacing was off, the characters were unlikable and I was very disappointed that such a dramatic scene was ended with a tasteless rim-shot. Overall, a solid show. ...

You can tell this show is a labor of love, and I mean that in the best way possible. This show was epic in terms of both scope and scale. Trying to condense an epic novel like The Count of Monte Cristo into an evening of theatre is no easy feat. From what I understand, the show had to be cut down even further to fit into its allotted time slot here at the Festival. On top of that, this large-scale, large-cast production was done no favors by the size of the stage it was presented upon. I see a lo...

A brilliant visual buffet of clowning and buffoonery. Such innovative and exquisite interpretations of a wide swath of the Bard's work. Among all of the memorable moments featured in this pristine piece of performance art, I'm still chuckling at the bit about all of the one-line roles from the Folio. Don't miss it!...

Some of the best, most intricately staged puppetry I've ever seen. And on top of that, you're treated to a diabolical philosophical and intellectually stimulating treatise on the true nature of Satan. It was... dare I say... devilishly thought-provoking. Go, and have your beliefs challenged. ...

A comedic romp through time and space, full of twists and turns and sudden, yet inevitable betrayals. The production is refined, but still bears the fingerprints and charms of its roots in improv. Definitely a must-see. Just make sure you sit in the center sections of the space. ...

This show had me hooked from the moment the lights came up, and took me on a ride that left me in stitches. An absolute can't-miss send-up of all things sacred (and profane) about one-person shows. Just go. You'll see what I mean. Side note - I especially loved the bits with Bridget in the booth! Remember folks, never piss off your stagehands. ...

Stunning. That's the first word that comes to mind after watching the visually stimulating, erotic and delightfully fucked-up dark faerie-tale that is House of Rabbits - Charivari in Voyeurville. Full of all kinds of sexy surprises (including a mind-blowing aerial silk duet), Charivari is the very definition of spectacle. Bravo. ...

A great concept brought to life using a ton of clever elements. What it needs is just a little more polish and clarity to be a truly great show. This show is full of larger-than-life personalities - video game characters, each the central figure of their respective franchises - and when you've got that many powerful personalities on stage at once, scenes need to be very clean and crisp, with clear, precise direction and blocking in order to avoid devolving into chaos. There were a few moments dur...

A touching story with a lot of potential. The play itself is good, and with a little more work, it will be something great. The acting is solid all around, with Elizabeth Rian's Rebecca a charming standout. ...

Yet another product of the hit factory that is Sacred Fools' Serial Killers. F'ing brilliant. Loved it. I've never seen the documentary, but now I'm going to (...in August, after I've slept through July). Don't miss this one. ...
