BLOOD, A Voodoo Love Story

Erotic Horror is not the first genre I expected to see at a Fringe Festival, but after witnessing BLOOD, a Voodoo Love Story, I want more! This show is one of the sexiest productions I've seen in Los Angeles, and that's 100% because of the talent Maria Tomas and Phrederic Semaj bring to the stage. Bravo. ... full review

The Last Known Recording of the Lovely Lenore Sisters

Jen Kenyon has created an intriguing and entertaining experience with "The Last Known Recording of the Lovely Lenore Sisters." It's Agatha Christie meets The Andrews Sisters, with Kenyon's flawless portrayals of each unique member of this trio as the main reason to come and experience the show. Bravo!... full review

Daughter of an Alien

An interesting story brought to life with excellent production value across the board (especially the makeup!), except for the complete absence of a sound plot. The show would have been greatly enhanced by music during the many scene changes. But, that one gripe aside, this play reminded me very much of the great episodes of Star Trek. I'm intrigued to see what the future has in store for this play. Great work!... full review

Only the Moon Howls

It's not very often that a show brings me to blubbering tears, but this one did, and it's a testament to the healing power of art. This show spoke to me on a very personal level. It was a very eerie case of art (almost) imitating life, and it affected me in a profound way. I survived a pretty gnarly car accident back in April. The experience shook both my wife of six years (who was not with me when it happened) and I up pretty badly. Sitting and watching this show unfold, we both realized at t... full review

Soundly

I had no idea what to expect, seeing this show. The house was full of large, cushy pillows for the audience to lounge upon, rather than seats. The stage was lit by the warm glow of string lights. Wine and treats were handed out beforehand. It felt like I was going to a poetry jam. What I beheld instead was one of the most sincere, beautiful and intimate stories about friendship and the bonds between us that I've ever seen. I can't sing this show's praises high enough. ... full review

Saint Mel

What a bizarre and unexpected story! I never thought I'd see a show that could make a character like Mel Gibson sympathetic, but Saint Mel did exactly that. Christopher Lane's turn as the titular Saint Mel was 100% spot-on and brilliant. Bravo. ... full review

The Inside Edge of the World

This show is not at all what I expected. But it was awesome. Michael Lopez's character is quite an unlikely and unexpected protagonist (based on personal circumstances that, if revealed, would spoil a great many of the show's surprises), but a protagonist that we wind up firmly in the corner of, just the same. Great story, great characters. I hope he brings this show back in the future.... full review

Joy Juice-A young man's story of chemo, cancer & good fortune

gregory crafts · June 30, 2015 uncertified reviewer
"Beauty is, truth beauty." Joy Juice is a story brimming with truth, and is a beautiful experience to behold because of that truth. Danny's story is one of courage told with such utter sincerity, it's hard not to root for him. He bares his soul, sharing even the most intimate details behind his fight against Lymphoma, and that brutally honesty, that bluntness he employs as he shares the many highs and lows he experienced, makes this show that much more relatable and deeply affecting. Bravo. ... full review
