Fifty Shades of Melania

If you don't know anything about Melania Trump's antics you may not understand a lot of the jokes but if you're like me and madly stalk all the Melania Trump hashtags (#freeMelania, anyone?) then you'll get the jokes right away. Liana takes on a journey through the many different "shades" of a woman so many of us are curious about. My personal favorite was the Pussy Power one that made us have hope that Melania would be on our side until...(spoiler alert) she takes off her metaphorical mask and s... full review

Raised By Wolves

Marla is so likable and it makes us fall in love with her and her show the second she steps on the stage. There is not a single part of her that the audience dislikes and we are rooting for her the whole way. I so appreciate and admire her honesty and candor and how she so easily transitioned from humor to devastation so smoothly and with ease. I hope she makes another show because I will for sure be in that audience. If you decide to skip this show, you are making a sorry mistake. Get your butt ... full review

Straight White Men Trying To Woke

The chemistry between the actors was wonderful to watch. In fact, half of the fun was just watching them be playful together. I felt like I was watching a bunch of grown-up kids (wait...isn't this what adults are?) having a blast together on-stage. This show may seem like a light-hearted comedy and it most definitely is, however, it is also full of lessons on how covert racism is inherent in so many of us (especially white folks). As a white person myself, I definitely learned how easy it is to... full review

Anna St. Hesia Dreams

Like I said earlier, Drew's writing is playful, quick-witted, and sharp. He knows his audience is smart and can keep up. Jinny is the perfect match for his writing and she brings to life a young woman who is so entrenched in her avoidance of living that she lives in a dream within a dream. And she doesn't give the audience mercy either - we are in the dream too, whether we want to be or not. Perhaps this is how it is for Anna, too?... full review

If We Run

Mad Spoiler Alert: Not all stories have happy endings. Some of them do. If We Run is one of those stories that could end either way. The cool part about this play is that it isn't obvious which way it's going to end, and even though part of you does want it to have a fairytale ending another part of you secretly hopes it doesn't. Because the latter is so much more heartbreakingly real and truthful. Matt's writing doesn't let the characters get away with having their heart's desire because at t... full review

You know Splash Mountain at Disneyland? Well, imagine you're on that ride but all of the moving animatronic animals are actually live people and there's no splashing water involved. Also throw in some Moonrise Kingdom set and costume design and Fawlty Towers witty back-and-forth dialogue and you've got yourself a very delicious final French pastry.... full review

FERTILE.

Heather takes an often taboo subject that no one ever talks about and places it front and center. She is at ease on the stage and has no problem switching between characters. Heather has this maternal nature that makes you wanna run on stage and give her a big ol’ hug! Also, I’ve never seen a solo show without a narrator that appears throughout the show and so I thought Heather’s decision to not have one was really cool, unique, and makes her show stand out. I had such a great time watching this ... full review

This show needs to be seen by every 20-something creative new to the industry. I seriously think Lisa needs to bring this to colleges, especially acting schools. It will save a lot of eager hopefuls (like myself) from being hurt by preying creeps!! ... full review

Jannica is your new best friend. Or at least, you want her to be! Her charm, ingenuity, and unabashed acceptance of herself and others radiates through her in this piece. Her story is unique and I hope everyone gets to witness her self-acceptance journey and learn from it like I did.... full review
